Salary to Hourly Calculator
Divide annual pay by the hours you actually work. The standard is 52 weeks times 40 hours (2,080 hours), but part-time schedules change the answer.
How it works
Hourly rate = annual salary ÷ (weeks per year × hours per week). Weekly pay is annual ÷ weeks, biweekly is annual ÷ 26, monthly is annual ÷ 12.
Example: $104,000 a year at 52 weeks and 40 hours a week: $50.00 an hour, $2,000 a week, $4,000 biweekly and $8,666.67 a month. A $52,000 salary on the same schedule is $25.00 an hour.
Frequently asked questions
Why 2,080 hours?
52 weeks times 40 hours is the standard full-time year. If you take unpaid weeks off, use fewer weeks and the hourly rate rises.
Does this include overtime or bonuses?
No — this converts base salary only. Add bonuses and overtime separately for total compensation.
How do I compare a part-time offer?
Enter its actual weeks and hours. A lower salary at fewer hours can be a higher hourly rate.
Is biweekly pay just weekly times two?
Almost: biweekly is annual divided by 26, which is slightly more than two weekly pays in months with three paydays.
