Working Days Calculator

Project deadlines and leave planning run on working days, not calendar days. Count the Mondays to Fridays between any two dates.

How it works

Walk day by day from the start date to the end date inclusive, counting a day when it is Monday–Friday. Calendar days = end − start + 1; weekend days = calendar days − working days.

Examples: Monday 2 November to Friday 6 November 2026: 5 working days. Sunday 1 November to Sunday 8 November 2026: 8 calendar days but 5 working days. Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 November: 0 working days.

Frequently asked questions

Are both endpoints counted?

Yes, when they fall on weekdays. A Monday-to-Friday range is 5 working days, not 4.

Are public holidays excluded?

No — this counts Monday–Friday only. If a holiday falls inside your range, subtract one for each holiday.

What about part-time schedules?

This calculator assumes a Monday–Friday week. For other patterns, count your own working days from the calendar total.

Can the end date be before the start?

No — the calculator asks you to swap them. Enter the earlier date first.
